Trash to treasure

Deadstock fabric refers to the excess material left over from fashion houses that have overestimated the fabric they require for a collection. Reportedly, the most cost effective solution is to discard excess fabric to landfill or burn it. Yikes.

Thankfully there are Australian businesses focused on circularity by recycling these fabrics for a second chance, a sustainable solution to a wasteful issue.

Traceability, fabric content or care instructions are often lost in translation through the passing of many hands. This requires further testing when it arrives in house and every effort is made to ensure more waste isn’t created when fabrics don't perform.

It's not perfect, but it's progress.
